Fun with Family

We just got back from the Burke Family Reunion 2010!  We stayed in cabins at Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen, GA.  The new cabins are pretty nice-rustic, but modern.  We swam, walked trails, saw alligators, turtles, and fish, sang karaoke, and of course, we ate unthinkable amounts of delicious food. My daddy is the BBQ King!  He made the best hash and BBQ.  I enjoyed seeing my aunts, uncles, cousins, and granddaddy.  Merea loved hanging out with her cousins, especially Hagan.

Growing up!

My baby girl is growing up so quickly.  She is becoming such an independent young lady.  According to the Wii, she's 27 lbs.  Her vocabulary is ever-expanding, and she's beginning to talk in sentences.  The other night, she was "reading" a book, and kept saying, "No, not right now!" I wonder where she's heard that.  Some of her other frequently used phrases and sentences include:
I want it.
Want gilk (milk)
Where is it?
There she is.
Have it!
I did it!
Uh-oh, fell down!
Want up, please.
Sit down!
Want straw! (She loves sipping diet soda from a straw)

We've also begun introducing the potty in the past couple of weeks.  We had one incident this evening when she took off her diaper without us knowing. Oh, the joys of parenthood!

Elmo's Green Thumb

Mama and I took Merea to Macon to see Sesame Street Live last week. It was a blast! Merea was enthralled, and I have to say that it was a good show, even for grown-ups.

Yes to VBS!

Vacation Bible School rocked this year! I helped with the 3-year-old class, and they were very sweet.

Merea participated in the nursery class, and she loved meeting the miniature horses.

Joy of My Life

Merea loves music. She's got in in her blood. I love to hear her sing and play instruments, even if it's just a princess flute. Here's Merea really getting into a jam session with Daddy.

Merea also loves to give her baby a "baga" (bottle).
